A new smart factory built by manufacturer Jiangsu Huajie Stainless Steel Products, located in Dainan town in Xinghua city, East China's Jiangsu province, recently entered its critical period for equipment debugging and installation.
The smart factory, costing 600 million yuan ($83.46 million), is seen as a key step in the company's transformation and upgrading towards high-end, intelligent and green products.

"The smart factory is not simply about expanding production, but about developing new high-end fasteners such as 2205-type duplex stainless steel and alloy steel ones, enabling our company to engage in more professional fields," said Xu Chunhua, chairman of the company.
The factory's core hub, a giant three-dimensional storage system, is praised by engineers as the nerve center of the entire intelligent production line.
The storage system can integrate the entire process from the reception of customer orders to intelligent scheduling, precision manufacturing, automatic warehousing and logistics distribution.
It can realize real-time monitoring of the operating status of each device, paving the way for unmanned production and the creation of an efficient and energy-saving factory.
The factory has also adopted the concept of green manufacturing, with its factory roof installed with 5-megawatt solar panels.
To foster its green development, the factory is also equipped with a large tonnage pre-treatment sewage treatment station, a large-scale exhaust gas purification treatment device and a waste oil recycling system.
