A bumper harvest of figs has been welcomed in August in Xinghua city, East China's Jiangsu province, which has also boosted the area's fruit picking industry and deep processing sectors.
At the fig plantation in Bachigou village in the city, the air is currently filled with the sweet aroma of the fruit.
Bachigou village once faced an uphill challenge of having scattered land and a single industry. Local officials then identified the market potential and health value of figs and subsequently went down the development path of integrating agriculture and tourism.
A standardized fig plantation was then built there, with a special picking experience area added so that tourists could pick mature and sweet figs with their own hands.

Fresh figs are delicious, but not easy to preserve. To cope with the difficulty, the village has cooperated with Jiangsu Guoxin Biotechnology. It provides strong scientific research and support, covering the entire supply chain of variety breeding, pest prevention and control and standardized production.
After cleaning, precise slicing, low-temperature drying and zero additives throughout their processing, the original aroma, flavor and nutritional content of the figs are preserved to the fullest.
From its seasonal fresh fruit on the branches to healthy dried fruit for easy storage and transportation, the fig industry in the village not only retains a popular nature-inspired vibe, but also produces long-term economic benefits.
