Xinghua in East China's Jiangsu province has reached a new milestone in the construction of major projects, with seven included on the list of provincial major projects for 2025. This is the most provincial major projects the city has ever had in a single year.
Fang Xiaochun, chairman of the Xinghua Development and Reform Commission, said that this year's projects primarily focus on new energy, new materials, aerospace, and marine industries. All the seven projects are currently underway and are expected to be completed within this year and the next two years, Fang said.
Among the seven projects, five are local initiatives. They are the high-end special alloy new materials project by Jiangsu Shenyuan Group with an investment of 5.8 billion yuan ($812 million), the project aiming for an annual output of 40,000 metric tons of high-performance special alloy materials and products by Jiangsu Minglu Special Steel Group with an investment of 1.38 billion yuan, the special functional new medical membrane materials project by Jiangsu Best New Medical Material with an investment of 1.1 billion yuan, the electronic component intelligent manufacturing project operated by Hehai Jingzhi Technology (Jiangsu), and the project aiming for annual output of 105,000 tons of new energy metal new materials operated by Jiangsu Hanqiao New Material Technology Group.

In addition to these local initiatives, the other two are the Laobanzhai labeled aviation food project funded by Shanghai Zhaowei Industrial with an investment of 1.2 billion yuan and the smart energy industry base project funded by Envision Energy with an investment of 7 billion yuan.
Local enterprises are key drivers of the major projects, which are characterized by scale expansion and industrial upgrading, said Fang.
Xinghua is committed to attracting, nurturing, and building major projects. The city has also established a dedicated service team for major projects, providing one-on-one targeted services to ensure the smooth advancement of projects.
