Artificial intelligence is driving the transformation of traditional industries and forging new industrial chains in Xinghua, Jiangsu province.
Xinghua's industrial foundation is primarily composed of stainless steel, health food, and mechanical casting. Since 2023, the city has been striving to produce higher-value products.

Jiangsu Xingda Steel Tyre Cord, a leading local enterprise, has developed an industrial internet platform that enables real-time analysis and monitoring, significantly enhancing troubleshooting efficiency. Last year, Xingda was among 19 companies in the city to be recognized on China's national list of excellent smart factories.
Concurrently, Xinghua is welcoming new AI-related projects. For instance, the city's first AI hardware manufacturing project, located in Diduo town and backed by Jiangsu Jinxing Hanteng Science and Technology with a total investment of 1.08 billion yuan ($159.50 million), has already entered trial production.
Another notable development is the intelligent manufacturing of electronic components project by Hehai Jingzhi Technology (Jiangsu) in Dainan town, which commenced construction last year. This project focuses on developing core components, including AI control systems, harmonic reducers, and servo motors.
Chen Fengjian, Party secretary of Xinghua, emphasized the unique characteristics of the local primary, secondary, and tertiary industries, which offer advantageous scenarios for AI development.
He said that the city plans to strategically select and strengthen specific areas such as scenario development, data collection, computing power support, and industrial funding to actively explore AI advancements across various fields.
