The first Yangtze River Delta Stainless Steel and Special Alloy New Materials Industry Conference, and NICE International Innovation Week, took place in Xinghua, Jiangsu province, on June 4.
The event, bringing together high-profile experts and entrepreneurs from China and other countries, aims to boost the high-value development of new metal materials and further integrate high-tech shipbuilding and marine engineering equipment supply chains.

Attendees offered suggestions on industry promotion and industry-university-research collaboration.
Overseas experts and industry representatives gave presentations on cutting-edge topics such as analyses of ridging in stainless steel sheet, light alloy design and key technologies for ultra-high-strength stainless steel microwires, providing professional insights and practical guidance.
In his speech, Chen Fengjian, Party secretary of Xinghua, noted that new metal materials serve as the backbone of the city. Xinghua plans to create a full-process innovation platform from smelting to finished products, outline the industry roadmap, strengthen recruitment of high-level talent, and further cooperate with the high-tech shipbuilding and offshore engineering equipment sectors.
Xinghua is focusing on promoting the integration of the innovation, industrial, capital, and talent chains, Chen added.
