The Wanmu Hetang, a lotus pond scenic area in Xinghua, Jiangsu province, opened on June 18, making it an ideal destination for summer getaways.

The 350-mu (23.33 hectares) core area within the place features nearly 100 lotus varieties as well as sunshades, canopies, and black-awning boats.
Stepping onto the wooden boardwalks, visitors can enjoy a panorama of green lotus leaves and pink blossoms with a delicate floral fragrance. They can also take a boat, feed koi fish, or go shrimping.
The scenic area also arranges a variety of activities to entertain visitors, including water dances, guzheng (Chinese zither) performances, poetry recitals, and writing activities with prizes on offer.
The lotus flower market within the scenic area offers an assortment of lotus-related products, such as lotus-flavored jelly, seed pods, glutinous rice balls in lotus root starch, lotus fans and sachets.
