The new facility built by Jiangsu Haibang New Material, which is set to produce 60,000-metric tons of functional modified polypropylene fiber annually, will be located in the Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone, Taizhou, Jiangsu province.
With an investment of 500 million yuan ($73.6 million), the project will introduce six new production lines for functional modified polypropylene fibers, and purchase 108 sets of equipment including screw extruders, melt spinning machines, and crimping machines, as well as make 12 sets of equipment by itself such as melt spinning machines and wire stacking machines.
The facility will use technology independently developed by Haibang, whose products are known for their strong crimp elasticity, light weight, and low melting point. Their comprehensive performance surpasses that of similar fibers, making them suitable for high-end applications in fields such as automotive interiors, geotechnical engineering, and hygienic materials.
Haibang is a technology-driven polymer material enterprise specializing in the research, development, production, and sales of polypropylene staple fiber. The company boasts nine advanced, fully automated polypropylene staple fiber production lines, with an annual design capacity of 90,000 tons.
