Jiangsu Weili Energy Technology, based in Jiangyan district, has developed a dry repair technology for waste lithium batteries after four years of research, allowing used batteries to be regenerated.

The company has invested 80 million yuan ($11.71 million) in a production line that can process 15,000 metric tons of lithium iron phosphate waste and produce 12,000 tons of repaired lithium iron phosphate a year.

Unlike traditional wet recycling methods, Weili's dry repair process uses no acidic reagents or re-synthesis, consumes only a quarter of the energy of wet methods, and produces zero wastewater or solid waste.

Weili's repaired lithium iron phosphate is now used in the supply chains of leading companies such as CATL and Ganfeng Lithium, in applications including energy storage and export batteries.

With this technology, the company has received 28 invention patents and 23 international patents, and has been recognized as a national high-tech enterprise.

In 2025, Weili's sales exceeded 80 million yuan, with a market share of 8 percent. In the first quarter of 2026, its sales reached 50 million yuan, with annual sales expected to exceed 500 million yuan.

Looking ahead, Weili plans to promote the industrialization of multi-category lithium battery recycling technologies and accelerate technology exports, empowering high-quality industrial development while advancing global battery material recycling.
