The East Outfitting Dock of New Times Shipbuilding (NTS) was approved for opening to the public by the Jiangsu provincial government on Feb 9, thus increasing to 17 the number of open ports in Jingjiang, Jiangsu province.
The dock is located downstream of Xiashi Port in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, owning a coastline of 920 meters. It has three 95,000-metric-ton outfitting berths, with a designed annual outfitting capacity of 1.5 million deadweight tons.
At present, the shipbuilding industry shows a positive development trend. The approval of this dock will help accelerate order deliveries for NTS so it can further lower its costs and ramp up efficiency. It will also promote the high-quality development of the regional high-tech shipbuilding industry.
