Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group, with its headquarters in Jingjiang, Jiangsu province, has reached a heavyweight cooperation deal based on a construction order of ten 1,100-TEU feeder container ships with its long-term partner, SITC International Holdings.
The project, with an investment of $228 million, serves as the first new ship order for the Yangzi Hongyuan Green High-Tech Clean Energy Ship Manufacturing Base, newly built by the Jingjiang company.

The cooperation between the two companies began at the end of 2017. From that year to 2023, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group built a total of 36 feeder container ships for SITC, with a combined contract amount of nearly $1 billion.
The new ships are scheduled to be delivered in batches between 2028 and 2029.
The Yangzi Hongyuan manufacturing base is an important hub for the transformation and upgrading of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group towards high-end, green, and high-quality development.
The base started construction on February 19 last year and is expected to be completed this year.
