The total import and export value of Jingjiang in Jiangsu province in the first quarter hit 14.22 billion yuan ($2.09 billion), a year-on-year increase of 11.64 percent compared to 2025.
Exports amounted to 12.68 billion yuan, up 13.78 percent year-on-year.
During the period, the city's leading industries — ships, cars, equipment, and metal — continued to reach new heights. In March, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group in Jingjiang reached a major cooperation agreement with SITC International Holdings, receiving 10 orders for the construction of container ships worth $228 million.
With the booming development of emerging industries such as health, new energy, and new materials, major Jingjiang enterprises such as Jiangsu Jiangshan Pharmaceutical and GMO High-tech continue to make stable contributions to the growth of Jingjiang's foreign trade.
In recent years, GMO High-tech has built a product portfolio of high-capacity electric water heaters, heat pump water heaters, and highly adaptable solar water heaters to meet different market demands. In the first quarter, the company saw its exports increase by over 40 percent year-on-year.
