Amid a national push for industrial modernization, enterprises in Taixing, Taizhou, Jiangsu province, had launched 176 expansion and technology upgrade projects, each valued at 5 million yuan ($744,824) or more, as of late August, as the city doubles down on transformation through capital reinvestment from existing firms.
At Taixing Longyi Terminals, a complete suite of 24 newly installed high-speed precision presses has redefined productivity on the factory floor. A single operator now oversees seven to eight machines simultaneously, pushing daily output to 100,000 units — more than 10 times the previous capacity, when one worker managed a single machine producing roughly 8,000 pieces. The upgrade has fundamentally reshaped the workflow. "The leap in efficiency is transformative," said deputy general manager Zhou Zhongshou.

In the eastern district of the Taixing Economic Development Zone, Taizhou Yuanda Group's cigar wood-tip expansion project is now operating at full capacity. Equipped with 20 automated production lines optimized by smart algorithms, the facility is climbing toward its annual target of 1.2 million units, representing a 20 percent capacity increase over previous levels.
Officials describe technological renovation as the most direct lever for upgrading traditional industries. By strengthening land supply, refining enterprise services and rolling out targeted support policies, authorities aim to encourage established investors to launch second and third phases, converting existing high-quality capacity into an even stronger industrial base.
