New Times Shipbuilding Co Ltd, a shipyard based in Jingjiang city – a county-level city, administered by Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – has sailed past its annual build target by completing its ship delivery task ahead of schedule.

Located in the Jingjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone, the company is now at output capacity to ensure production, ship deliveries and continued growth.
In 2023, it achieved its annual ship delivery target of nearly 3,711,500 deadweight tons, or DWT for 27 ships.
This impressive accomplishment includes the completion of 11 dual-fuel-powered bulk carriers weighing 210,000 metric tons, two oil tankers weighing 115,000 tons each, four bulk carriers weighing 120,000 tons, six Class II chemical tankers weighing 50,000 tons each, three container vessels with a capacity of 7,000 TEUs and one 13,000 TEU container ship.
Throughout the year, the company has made significant efforts to adopt lean management and improve its production processes. It's prioritized its digital transformation and focused on IT development and enterprise management.
Moreover, the yard has rolled out various software and a flexible manufacturing system in its assembly line, resulting in enhanced construction efficiency. The goal is to establish a digital shipyard with intelligent ship production facilities.
To date, the company has received 39 new orders and has a backlog of 97 orders, 49 of which are for dual-fuel-powered ships. The production tasks are scheduled until 2027.
