The Jingjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone – in Jingjiang city, in East China's Jiangsu province – recently climbed the rankings to enter the list of China's top 100 development zones, for its high-quality growth in 2023.

According to the list announced by the Ministry of Commerce, the zone ranked 98th, 12 places higher than the previous year. This catapulted it into the Top 100 list for the first time.
As the only national development zone in Taizhou city, the Jingjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone has spared no effort to expand its GDP. It's accelerated building industry clusters, improved its innovation capability, optimized its business environment and integrated its industry with its urban development.
What's more, the zone is aiming to attract more investment projects, extend and upgrade industry supply chains and pursue innovation-driven growth through scientific planning and reform measures.
On top of that, it will strive to build a market-oriented technological innovation system that is led by enterprises – as well as integrate industry, education and research.
The Ministry of Commerce assessed 230 national development zones in terms of their openness, scientific and technological innovation, green growth, balanced and coordinated development, as well as quality of growth.
