Several key people livelihood projects in the Jingjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone in Taizhou have been advancing recently.
Construction of Xieqiao Middle School
With a total investment of 480 million yuan ($65.61 million), the newly built Xieqiao Middle School serves as the city's key livelihood project. It will accommodate 2,400 students.
The teaching buildings, cafeteria, dormitories, and other essential facilities are now undergoing interior decoration, while the gymnasium and auditorium are ready to for final inspections.
Mingde Youth Apartment
To address demand for accommodation near the newly built Xieqiao Middle School, the Jingjiang ETDZ is currently planning the Mingde Youth Apartment.
Spanning 35 mu (2.33 hectares), the project is budgeted at around 425 million yuan and will consist of six buildings with 12 floors of apartments, totaling about 500 units.
It will also feature a commercial area of about 1,500 square meters. The main structure is expected to be completed by December this year, with overall completion scheduled for December 2026.
Xinlan Community
As the city's first comfortable housing community designed specifically for professional and technical talent, Xinlan Community has received about 326 million yuan in investment.
It will feature 866 apartment units, landscaping, roads, and parking garages, catering to the housing needs of up to 3,000 people. Completion is anticipated by March 2026.
