Jingjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone, located in Jingjiang, Taizhou, has been vigorously promoting low-carbon transformation and industrial upgrading in recent years.
It has been accelerating the construction of a green and low-carbon industrial system, as well as actively building green ecological ports.
At the smart logistics area of Jingjiang Port operated by Shenzhen International Holdings Ltd, photovoltaic panels are neatly arranged on the roofs of enclosed material storage facilities. The company aims to create the Yangtze River's most environmentally friendly and lowest-carbon bulk cargo port.
These efforts not only effectively increase the utilization rate of green power but also significantly reduce emissions of greenhouse gases during operations.
Eight square meters of photovoltaic power systems have been installed on three enclosed material storage warehouses, with an expected annual electricity generation of 12 million kilowatt-hours, which can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 9,000 metric tons annually.
Jingjiang Taihe Port Co Ltd is the first port enterprise in the city to use new energy vehicle teams. Since the second half of last year, the company has invested over 10 million yuan ($1.37 million) to introduce new energy trucks, loaders, and grab trucks.
In 2024, the company transported 2.98 million tons of goods using NEV, consuming 487,400 yuan in electricity, saving 138,600 liters of fuel, and accumulating over 1 million yuan in fuel costs.
