A project to produce civilian large-scale liquid hydrogen storage equipment by Jiangsu Hengqing New Energy Technology Co commenced construction in Jingjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone on June 7.
"The project, with an investment of 500 million yuan ($69.59 million), will utilize 50 mu (about 3.33 hectares) of underutilized land in Jingjiang ETDZ to build 24,000 square meters of new workshops," said a representative of Hengqing New Energy Technology Co.
"By introducing advanced manufacturing equipment, we aim to establish an intelligent base with an annual capacity of 100 sets of large-scale liquid hydrogen storage and transportation equipment," added the representative. "The project is scheduled for operation in the first quarter of 2026 and is expected to generate annual sales of 450 million yuan."
Hengqing New Energy Technology was established by Hengyuan Industrial Furnace (Jingjiang) Co, which has specialized in the niche field of industrial furnaces and built a robust research and development and manufacturing system for heat treatment equipment.
Hengyuan Industrial Furnace commands over 70 percent market share in China's full-hydrogen bell-type furnace sector. Its HY series full hydrogen hood furnace has passed CE certification and has the passport to open up the international market.
The project is part of Hengyuan's efforts to harness the ongoing energy revolution and break into the high-end new energy equipment sector.
