The Jingjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone in Jingjiang, Jiangsu province, held a special handmade craft event on Feb 10 to ring in the Year of the Horse.
Under the guidance of a teacher, employees in the zone made paper cuttings in various shapes with nothing more than a piece of red paper and a pair of scissors. The works are a way to express hope for the year ahead.
They also tried making their own traditional rubbings, completing everything from sample selection and paper coating to ink dipping and pressing, experiencing the warmth and charm of traditional culture.
They also made their own silver willow bonsai by selecting desired plants, pruning branches, and carefully arranging the height and combination of plants. The once-scattered materials were transformed into warm, elegant displays.
