A delegation led by Shen Bo, vice-chairman and general manager of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), and Peter Dilnot, CEO of Melrose Industries in the UK, visited Jingjiang on April 23.
COMAC is a leading force in China's civil aircraft industry, responsible for the research, production, and operation of domestically produced large aircraft.
The delegation visited Jingjiang-based Kaifei Aviation Manufacturing, jointly established by COMAC, GKN Aerospace and AVIC Supply. It serves as one of the key supporting bases for aircraft structural components for COMAC.

Melrose Industries is a leading industrial manufacturing group, and its subsidiary, GKN Aerospace, is a globally leading manufacturer of aerospace components with comprehensive capabilities in aerospace composite structure design, manufacturing, and airworthiness certification.
Melrose Industries has established GKN Aerospace (Jingjiang), focusing on the research and production of civil aircraft windshield assemblies. It has already achieved stable mass production of the Airbus A320 cockpit windshield.
On the same day, a signing ceremony for the cooperation of the Airbus A320 wing fairing box section project was also held. This marks the first product program transferred from GKN Aerospace to Kaifei Aviation Manufacturing for production.
Peter Dilnot said Melrose Industries will leverage its technological and resource strengths, accelerate the development of its business in Jingjiang, and help boost the high-end, large-scale, and international development of Jingjiang's aviation manufacturing industry.
