Deploying the widespread use of new technologies, the Taixing Economic Development Zone – located in Taixing city in East China's Jiangsu province – is well on the path to its transformation and upgrading into a smart zone.
Smart zones focus on the sharing of information, the mining and utilization of data and the development and guarantee of safety. Through the integration of information technologies and diverse resources, the Taixing EDZ is pushing ahead to ensure that its construction and management becomes ever smarter.

In 2019, the Taixing EDZ started on its development as a smart zone and currently the project has linked 16 operations systems, handling 358 million pieces of data.
Based on big data technology, the project has deeply processed and mined the data of the zone, involving business safety, environmental protection, its economy and other dimensions.
One innovation is that the project has applied three-dimensional or 3D data modeling of its main buildings, factories, equipment and the roads of the zone, to establish 3D visualization management.
Through real-time data transmissions, the zone can now realize dynamic regulation and further make predictions and preparations for incidents.
To date, the infrastructure of the command center and the construction of the computer labs have been completed.
The migration of the old computer labs to the new facilities is expected to be finished by the end of the month, after which the software system platform will begin operating.
