The Taixing Economic Development Zone in Taixing city – administered by Taizhou, in East China's Jiangsu province – has set itself the target of becoming a talent-friendly industrial park, in a bid to cultivate a new driver for its high-quality growth.
Zhu Weixiang, secretary of the Party working committee of the zone, recently outlined the idea.

The zone will strive to bring talent together as well as attract and cultivate professionals, aiming to become a national and even an international talent hub.
To this end, the zone is upgrading its fine chemicals, new materials, and pharmaceutical daily chemicals and modern service industries – to cultivate a modern industrial system that can attract more investment projects and personnel.
It plans to recruit over 2,000 people to these sectors every year. As such, it has set goals for the fine chemical and new material industries, as well as the pharmaceutical and daily chemical industries – with their production values predicted to top 150 billion yuan ($20.6 billion) and 50 billion yuan, respectively by the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period.

Furthermore, a group of innovation-driven labs and incubators will be launched to attract top-flight individuals and innovative and entrepreneurial teams from home and abroad. Enterprises will be supported to build world-class research and development centers and State-level technology centers.
What's more, the zone will issue policies and measures to motivate talent and invest more in talent services – such as housing, medical care, and children's education.
