A major sealing and bonding materials production plant – to be located in the Taixing Economic Development zone in Taixing city, in East China's Jiangsu province – recently broke ground.
That's after it obtained construction safety certification, a quality supervision notice and a construction permit on Nov 17 from the authorities.
The plant will be operated by Soudal High Performance Materials (Taixing) Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Belgium's Soudal Group – one of the biggest manufacturers of sealing materials and foaming agent products in Europe.
In July 2021, Soudal invested 75 million euros ($82.51 million) in the Taixing EDZ to fund the high-performance sealing and bonding materials plant. The preliminary design and project approval were completed by June 2022.
To promote its early commencement, the zone's investment promotion department customized the approvals process flow chart.
It also connected with the approvals department in advance, for a preliminary review of the overall and construction drawings – enabling the project to obtain the construction drawing review certificate on Oct 26.
When at full capacity, the plant will produce 68,500 metric tons of high-performance sealing and bonding materials annually.
