Taixing city, located in East China's Jiangsu province, recently released its government work report for 2025, highlighting work focuses for the current year and showing impressive achievements that were made last year.
Taixing has set out economic development goals for 2025, including for regional GDP to grow 6 percent, general public budget revenue to rise 3 percent, industrial invoiced sales to gain 6 percent, fixed asset investment to grow 5 percent and total retail sales of consumer goods advancing 6.5 percent.
In terms of developing projects, the city plans to sign up 200 projects worth over 100 million yuan ($13.64 million) each throughout the year. It also plans to break ground on 100 projects and complete the construction of 80 projects worth over 100 million yuan each throughout the course of the year.
Efforts will also be made to ensure that foreign investment in actual use reaches $300 million and the total amount of imports and exports climbs to $5.8 billion.
In 2024, Taixing made impressive results in economic operations, with its regional GDP estimated to have increased by 5.5 percent and general public budget revenue hitting 10.01 billion yuan. The city also distributed special funds of 188 million yuan to bolster the high-quality development of the real economy.
Last year, the city added 90 manufacturers above a designated size, those with annual revenue of 20 million yuan or more. It also achieved industrial invoiced sales of 223.7 billion yuan, up 8 percent.
In 2024, the city signed up, broke ground on and completed the construction of 227, 100 and 90 projects worth over 100 million yuan each, respectively.
Taixing also added 132 national-level high-tech enterprises and nine national-level little giants last year.
In a bid to improve people's lives, the city released special funds of 317 million yuan last year and arranged for 11,300 urban residents to secure employment opportunities.
