The Taixing Science and Technology Bureau, located in Taixing city, East China's Jiangsu province, has moved to contribute to the city's sci-tech innovation and quality development in recent years.
Under its guidance, industrial cobalt producer Gem (Jiangsu) Cobalt Industry, located in the Taixing Economic Development Zone, has made major advances.
In the latest development it has developed a core shell high nickel ternary precursor that breaks the current foreign technology monopoly.
Chemical compound tricobalt tetraoxide, commonly used in the production of ceramics, glass, enamel and catalysts, is the company's flagship product, accounting for over 25 percent of the global market share. This has made the Taixing EDZ the world's largest production hub for tricobalt tetraoxide.

The bureau has also actively fostered the establishment of innovation consortia, guiding enterprises, universities and scientific research institutions to jointly carry out technology research and development and commercialize achievements.
Efforts have also been made to encourage industrial parks and leading enterprises to establish offshore innovation centers.
To date, the city has established five offshore innovation centers and spurred 120 enterprises to establish industry-university-research cooperation relationships with 70 universities and institutes in the Yangtze River Delta region.
Overall, since 2023, Taixing city has attracted and nurtured over 500 science and technology innovation projects.
