Xiong Zhi, chairman of Jiangsu Yongzhi Semiconductor Materials, located in Taixing city, Jiangsu province, started in business in 1993 and formed ties with semiconductor materials producers.
Back in the 1990s, there was a significant gap in the technological level of Chinese semiconductor materials compared with advanced international standards, with local high-end products almost totally relying on imports.
At that time, Xiong quit his stable job in a government department and led his company on the thorny entrepreneurial path with an obsession for "localization".

After over 30 years of development, Yongzhi has stood out in the fierce market competition and achieved leading and even pioneering achievements in multiple technologies.
In 2024, the company was recognized as a national-level specialized and sophisticated "little giant" firm that produces cutting-edge products.
In order to break the technological dominance of foreign countries in semiconductor materials, Yongzhi actively cooperates with the Harbin Institute of Technology to develop ceramic substrate products.
At present, the project has entered the incubation and testing phase.
Xiong said that with the development of the intelligent low altitude economy, new energy vehicles and new energy solar power industries, the semiconductor industry has ushered in a huge development opportunity.
Yongzhi said he was focusing on developing the etchings and ceramic substrate fields, striving to build a complete semiconductor materials industry supply chain.
