The pilot test technology incubation industrial park in the Taixing Economic Development Zone in Taixing, Jiangsu province, recently welcomed its first batch of eight pilot projects.
In pilot testing, a key stage for scientific research achievements as it moves toward mass production, challenges include a high threshold, strict standards, and large investment. In response, the zone invested 500 million yuan ($70.02 million) in building the industrial park.
The park focuses on high-end new materials, biomanufacturing, specialty chemicals, electronic chemicals, semiconductor materials, and functional materials, and can accommodate 20 pilot test projects simultaneously.
In addition, Taixing has taken the lead in Jiangsu in introducing management measures for chemical pilot test bases and pilot projects. According to these measures, the pilot project process in the industrial park will be streamlined from 19 items to just eight items, the project approval cycle will be shortened from 15-18 months to three to four months, and the number of materials that must be submitted by enterprises will be reduced by about 60 percent.
The industrial park will also provide professional services such as research and development carriers, safety and environmental protection, and financial funds for projects, creating an open, collaborative and efficient demonstration area for the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements.
