Taixing in Jiangsu province is set to elevate its three key industries to the next level, according to the city's recently released plan for the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30).
By 2030, Taixing's goals including scaling its new chemical materials industry above 120 billion yuan ($17.65 billion), raising the value of its modern equipment manufacturing industry to 100 billion yuan, and improving its health manufacturing industry to 100 billion yuan.
To achieve the goals, the city will promote the full industrial chain of its new chemical materials industry, the integrated upgrading of its modern equipment manufacturing industry, and achieve breakthroughs in the high-end development of its health manufacturing industry.
For the new chemical materials industry, Taixing will focus on developing electronic chemicals such as photoresist and wet electronic chemicals, as well as new energy materials such as lithium batteries, photovoltaics, hydrogen energy, and wind power.
Meanwhile, its modern equipment manufacturing industry will focus on developing green and intelligent ultra-large container ships and other ship types.
The city will also prioritize robots and core components, industrial mother machines, automotive parts. Moreover, it will accelerate the development of the green and low-carbon equipment field around clean energy, energy conservation and carbon reduction, and environmental protection governance.
In the field of health manufacturing, Taixing will focus on developing biopharmaceuticals, health foods, and advanced medical devices. It will also expand into niche areas such as innovative drugs, daily chemical products, foods for special medical use, and pet food.
