Taixing, a county-level administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province, is about 18 months away from getting its first high-speed rail service.

Located in Yewu village, Huangqiao town, Huangqiao Station is one of the two high-speed railway stations in Taizhou. The station will have a floor area of 5,997 square meters and a maximum passenger capacity of 1,000 people.

Construction on the main structure of Huangqiao Station is over halfway complete. All main structures are expected to be finished by the end of August, with final decoration and mechanical and electrical installation work to wrap by the end of June 2027.

The entire Taixing section of the Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei High-speed Railway is expected to open by the end of October 2027.

After its opening, the station will put Taixing within about one hour of Shanghai and Nanjing by high-speed rail. Travel to destinations across Jiangsu and Anhui will become much faster as well.

In addition, construction on the Yancheng-Yixing High-speed Railway is also accelerating. The Taixing section is about 30 kilometers long. Shield tunneling officially began on the Yangtze River Tunnel along the railway officially, with a total length of 8,130 meters.

The railway has a total mainline length of about 311 km, with a designed speed of 350 km per hour (250 km per hour in the Yangtze River Tunnel section), and will include a station in east Taixing.

The line will intersect with the Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei High-speed Railway, creating a cross-shaped high-speed rail network that will significantly improve Taixing's regional connectivity.
