During the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, the Taixing Economic Development Zone and Binjiang town, both located in Taixing, Jiangsu province, adhered to an integrated development approach, yielding fruitful results.
The zone has consistently ranked among the top 10 chemical industrial parks in China for 13 consecutive years, ranking second among the most competitive during that period. Binjiang town has been selected as one of the top 100 in China in terms of comprehensive competitiveness for eight consecutive years.

The zone's invoiced sales above designated size reached 138.06 billion yuan ($59.11 million) in 2025. Its foreign investment in actual use hit $1.11 billion in the past five years. The zone broke ground on 94 projects worth over 100 million yuan each and completed 80 projects during the period. Its low carbon olefin functional materials cluster was awarded national characteristic industrial cluster designation.
The zone has gathered more than 90 upstream and downstream enterprises. In the past five years, the zone's 17 projects have filled the domestic gap. It is also home to 13 national level specialized and innovative "little giants" and 37 provincial-level ones.
The zone's layout features a comprehensive innovation system involving platforms, projects, funds, and talent. The zone's chemical pilot plant base can accommodate 20 pilot projects. The zone has adopted the "offshore plus local" development model and has established offshore innovation centers in Shanghai, Nanjing, and Suzhou. It has implemented 43 digital transformation projects and cultivated 25 advanced intelligent factories.
Over the past five years, Binjiang town's collective operating income has increased to 56.4 million yuan. The per capita disposable income of rural residents has increased to 40,444 yuan. The annual output value of fruits and vegetables in the town reaches 260 million yuan, and the transaction volume of rural e-commerce reaches 230 million yuan.
