The Taizhou Port Economic Development Zone – located in Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – has been mobilizing to build an optimal relationship between government and business, in a bid to pave the way for accelerated growth of its local enterprises.

To that end, a task force has been deployed to offer tailored services and help ease the burden enterprises face in their production and operations. As a result, a communications mechanism between government and business has been launched to help identify the needs of companies and sort out their difficulties.

To date, the task force has visited 95 enterprises and collected 29 opinions and suggestions on policy implementation, recruitment of personnel, safe production, environmental protection and infrastructure.

In addition, the zone has been publicizing its preferential policies with local enterprises. The initiative is to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship and attract sci-tech talent – through door-to-door lectures, distributing pamphlets, training sessions and instant-messaging services.

Moreover, it is inviting specialists to provide one-on-one guidance and is encouraging qualified companies to apply for governmental subsidies under the policies.

A total of 29 companies have been included in the subsidy list.

The zone has issued 18 measures to streamline relations between government and business – proposing a "positive list" and a "negative list" for government-business contacts.

At the same time, a mechanism for handling business environment issues that were identified in the visits has been launched. It will work to ensure that each case receives feedback and is properly handled.
