A bunch of fun activities will be held on Lantern Festival day – which falls on Feb 5 this year – at the scenic areas of Xinghua city in East China's Jiangsu province.

On the fifth day of the Lunar New Year, Xinghua – a county-level city administered by the prefecture-level Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – held a series of activities at its Baziqiao cultural and tourism block.

On Jan 6, crab farmers started to catch crabs in an area covering about 3500 mu (233 hectares) in the Dazong River aquiculture area in Xinghua.

The charms of Shagou town in Xinghua, will be featured in a documentary series named Nostalgia in Mind, to be broadcast on China Central Television 4, or CCTV-4, on Jan 11.

Located in the downtown Xinghua the single arch Bazi Bridge is made of granite and it spans the south-north Beishi River.

At night Xinghua city is dressed to impress – decorated by a raft of lanterns and other lighting that extends from city to countryside.

The tranquil and beautiful former residence of Zheng Banqiao is located in Xinghua, a county level metropolis that is administered by the prefecture-level city of Taizhou, in East China's Jiangsu province.

The Xinghua Duotian Irrigation and Drainage System was recognized as a World Heritage Irrigation Structure on Oct 6, along with three other historical Chinese irrigation sites.
