A lotus-themed night market opened on July 5 at the Gulouotang Tourism and Culture Scenic Area in Jiangyan district, offering a fresh summer evening experience that blends floral elegance with lively street culture.
As night falls, the scenic area comes alive with lotus installations and ancient-style decorations lining the streets, creating a picturesque setting that transports visitors back in time. Vendor stalls are neatly arranged along the walkways, offering fresh-cut lotuses that draw many visitors who stop to browse and make purchases.
Beyond flower viewing and shopping, the market features cultural performances and traditional costume parades. These diverse activities bring a lively street atmosphere that appeals to visitors of all ages, allowing locals to enjoy a romantic and relaxing summer night .
According to Huang Sufang, deputy manager of the scenic area's tourism department, the market was designed to break away from conventional night tourism models. "We combined quiet lotus views with vibrant market activities," she said. "We'll keep refining the offerings and updating our activities to enrich the summer experience at the Gulouotang Scenic Area."
