Street marking and installation of traffic signs for the Jiangyin-Jingjiang Yangtze River Tunnel, linking Jingjiang in Taizhou and Jiangyin in Wuxi, both located in Jiangsu province, is nearly complete and the tunnel is expected to be completed and opened to traffic sometime this year.

This tunnel starts from Jingjiang's Gongxin Highway in the north and ends at Furong Avenue in Jiangyin in the south, with a total length of about 11.83 kilometers. It is a two-way six lane expressway with a designed speed of 80 kilometers per hour.

The project started construction in April 2020. The main body of the project, as well as the supporting north connecting line and north leading line, have been connected.

After the tunnel is opened, it will relieve traffic congestion on the Jiangyin Yangtze River Bridge and strengthen the Yangtze River Delta cross river transportation network.
