The monitoring of the finless porpoise in the Jiangsu section of the Yangtze River for the third quarter has ended and researchers have captured precious images of groups of finless porpoises multiple times in the Jingjiang section of the river during the monitoring process.
The monitoring results indicate that the number of observed finless porpoises in the Jingjiang section has broken through, setting a high observation record since the systematic monitoring of the region.
The Jingjiang section has also been identified as an area with frequent finless porpoise activity.

Monitoring personnel captured footage of mother and son dolphins frequently appearing in Jingjiang, Jiangsu province, releasing a positive signal that the population of finless porpoises is thriving in the Jingjiang section.
With a coastline of 52.3 kilometers along the Yangtze River, Jingjiang is the county-level city in Jiangsu with the longest deep-water coastline along the Yangtze River.
Since the implementation of the national Yangtze River protection initiative 10 years ago, Jingjiang has placed the restoration of the ecological environment of the Yangtze River in an overwhelming position, coordinated the prevention and control of environmental pollution and ecological protection work, and continued to carry out fishing bans, dock management along the Yangtze River, and the construction of ecological wetland parks.
