Ambitious plans for the Taixing Huangqiao Economic Development Zone – located in Taixing city in East China's Jiangsu province – to sign up more than 41 projects valued at over 100 million yuan ($14.77 million) each this year, were tabled at a project marketing conference on Jan 29.
Staff members in the zone are being encouraged to attract projects and leaders and Party members are seen as being pioneers in investment promotions.
A European business marketing team is soon due to depart for Germany and France to visit enterprises, to promote the success of three manufacturing projects.
Meanwhile, the Huangqiao EDZ is moving to develop influential and high profile industrial clusters or centers.
To boost the big health industry, the zone will focus on the development of health food as well as functional food – foods or food ingredients that provide health benefits beyond meeting basic nutrition needs.
Also, it will seek to push its "Bio-fermentation and Future Food City of China" as a frontier industrial highland, said zone official Cui Zhen.
What's more, the zone will optimize an existing mechanism for the management of projects. It will discuss the issues of major projects weekly and review the work of its departments monthly, assess the progress made in attracting projects quarterly and check the overall performance on projects annually.
