Taixing in Jiangsu province aims to elevate its key industries — chemical new materials, modern equipment manufacturing, and health manufacturing — to the point where they each achieve an output scale exceeding 100 billion yuan ($14.74 billion), according to the city's recently released plan for the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30).
In line with this goal, the Taixing Huangqiao Economic Development Zone will strive to become a core engine by cultivating its three core industries.
For the high-rate lithium battery industry chain, the zone will highlight the full chain development of lithium battery positive and negative electrode materials, battery cells, packaging, and energy storage system integration. The goal is for the zone to add more than 15 related projects or enterprises during this five-year period.
In terms of the bio-fermentation and future food industry chain, the zone will operate its innovative platforms with high standards, deeply cultivate bio-fermentation technologies, and build an integrated industrial system of research and development, pilot testing, and mass production, among other measures.
For the high-end equipment manufacturing industry, the zone aims to establish an intelligent manufacturing joint laboratory with leading Chinese universities, thereby promoting the transformation of equipment manufacturing towards intelligent and high-end development.
