Statistics showed that the Taixing Huangqiao Economic Development Zone in Taixing city –administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province – made great progress in developing its three featured industries in the first half of this year.
They are the high-rate lithium battery industry, bio-fermentation industry, and intelligent wind power equipment industry.
From January to June, the three industries received invoiced sales of 1.16 billion yuan ($162.45 million), 547 million yuan and 2.37 billion yuan, accounting for 15.93 percent, 7.5 percent, and 32.47 percent of the zone's total invoiced sales, respectively.
In recent years, the zone has signed 36 project contracts worth over 100 million yuan each, broken ground on 18 projects, and completed 15 projects with an annual average.
To date, the zone has been honored as a national-level foreign trade transformation and upgrading base, an industry-university-research cooperation innovation demonstration base, and a high-quality investment and business environment innovation demonstration park, among others.
