To celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year, Huangqiao town in Taixing city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – is preparing a range of fun cultural activities to allow its folks to let their hair down and enjoy the festival vibes.
A Spring Festival gala was held in the Huangqiao Grand Theater on Jan 30, which staged great cultural performances.
A folk culture festival will take place on Feb 9-24 in Huangqiao town's Qixiang village. Colorful performances will be put on, including a campfire party, a Spring Festival market fair and a fireworks display.
The festival aims to showcase the development achievements and cultural charm of Qixiang, to attract more tourists to visit the beautiful village.
Moreover, a cultural market for the Lantern Festival will be held at the local community work and social station in Huangqiao town's Nanjie community on Feb 20. Several special stands will be set up to give folks a better understanding of traditional culture and to feel the festive atmosphere through active participation.
