High-tech enterprises are those enterprises registered in China, excluding Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, for more than one year, and continuously conduct research and development and transform technological achievements in the national key supported high-tech fields, form core independent intellectual property rights and carry out business activities based on this.
The recognition of high-tech enterprises is seen as being an important measure to support and foster the development of high-tech industries.
For the companies, the official designation of being a high-tech enterprise is regarded as a valuable national-level qualification certification. It is a clear sign of intent for a business that relies on technology to establish itself.
