The Jiangyin High-Tech Industrial Development Zone in Jiangyin city and the Taixing Huangqiao Economic Development Zone in Taixing city, both located in East China's Jiangsu province, co-built an industrial park in Taixing's Huangqiao town in 2013 which is thriving to this day.
As Jiangyin and Taixing cities are, respectively, located in the province's south and north regions, the joint venture – called the Jiangyin High-Tech Zone Huangqiao Industrial Park – is seen as a great example of south and north cooperation.
It continues to strive to be a model park for north-south joint construction under the first-class market-oriented operations system in the province.
By the end of 2024, it was home to 63 business enterprises.
What's more, the industrial park has established a cross regional cooperation office and an investment development company to foster collaborative innovation and development.
Communications activities and the attraction and relocation of enterprises from Jiangyin and southern Jiangsu to Huangqiao town have been undertaken through the operating mode.
Shao Ming, secretary of the Party working committee of the Taixing Huangqiao EDZ, said that in the past decade, the industrial park had broken ground on eight projects costing over 100 million yuan ($13.75 million) each on annual average.
Moves have also been made by the park to urge resident companies to work with major enterprises to enhance their competitiveness.
The park has focused on creating an efficient and convenient government environment, as well as an excellent business environment for innovation and entrepreneurship, fully implementing the service mechanism with the simplest procedures, the least number of links and the highest efficiency.
