Leveraging local agricultural foundations and commercial advantages, the food processing sector in Taixing city, Jiangsu province, is continuing to grow into a wide-ranging industrial cluster.
In the wake of the national Healthy China Initiative, the Taixing Huangqiao Economic Development Zone is on the move. It's focusing on the three major directions of nutritional supplementation, exercise rehabilitation and special medical food, striving to build an influential future food and health industry mecca.
The zone has established the China Institute of Bio-fermentation and Future Food Industry, as well as established a special medical food research institute based on the National Innovation Center par Excellence.
Within the zone, a globally renowned producer of TG enzymes, manufacturer Dongsheng Biotech (Taixing) has established industry-university-research cooperation with high-profile universities. That's helped boost its domestic market share of TG enzyme products to over 60 percent.

Elsewhere, the Taixing Modern Agricultural Industrial Park has built major industrial clusters for the production of braised food, fast food, pastries and fruit drinks.
The park has utilized modern, digital and intelligent means to encourage fresh food manufacturers there to enhance the added value of basic ingredients through fine processing.
Overall, Taixing plans to sign up eight projects worth over 500 million yuan ($68.23 million) each in the current year.
