Lithium-ion battery manufacturer Jiangsu Sunpower, located in the Taixing Huangqiao Economic Development Zone, Taixing city, Jiangsu province, is consistently increasing its investment in green technologies.
By installing rooftop distributed solar power panels, the company's annual power generation reached 2.24 million kilowatt-hours last year.
That accounted for 63 percent of the group's total electricity consumption in its buildings and saved over 1 million yuan ($137,241) in electricity bills annually, said Yang Qingxin, general manager of the company.

The company's factory has adopted a multi-layer intensive design, equipped with LED energy-saving lamps and an intelligent zoning lighting system, which can reduce overall energy consumption by 20 percent, Yang added.
An intelligent energy monitoring platform has also been introduced to optimize energy consumption in real time. That's reduced the company's energy consumption per unit of power lithium batteries to a level that is 25 percent lower than the industry average.
In a bid to build green production capacity, the company has promoted a circular economy model, with a rainwater collection and reuse rate of 99.76 percent and all treated production wastewater being discharged in compliance with industry standards.
