Aiming for establishing a provincial-level pilot zone to support China's carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals and a water-saving industrial park, the Taixing Huangqiao Economic Development Zone, located in Taixing city, East China's Jiangsu province, is ramping up its building of a green, low-carbon and circular industrial system.

To date, the zone has established two national-level green factories and three provincial-level green factories.

Taking the improvement of its environmental quality as core task, the zone has built two air stations, two water stations, two Volatile Organic Compounds or VOC stations and 38 air micro stations to protect the regional environment in real time.

Efforts also include adopting clean solar energy, building a water-saving and circular system, as well as building a comprehensive water-saving supervision platform.

Resident enterprises have lined up to let innovation lead the way in the green transformation of industry.

Lithium-ion battery manufacturer Jiangsu Sunpower in the zone is a prime example, with the company optimizing its resistance-based charging and discharging technology to inverter-based charging and discharging. This aims to improve the efficiency of battery charging and discharging while achieving energy recovery and reuse.

In addition, the zone in recent years has accelerated the improvement of local support facilities to enhance its carrying capacity.

A comprehensive energy station has been built, integrating cooling, heating, photovoltaic power generation and more, which can save electricity of 15 million kilowatt-hours and reduce 14,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
