Breakthroughs made in special materials and intelligent manufacturing have been helping to integrate the industrial chain of the Taixing Huangqiao Economic Development Zone in Taixing, Jiangsu province, with the global market.
Now in the zone, nickel-based alloy pipes can withstand the high temperature environment of nuclear reactors, super bi-directional steel structural components can cope with the high-pressure challenge of 3,000 meters in deep sea, high-end safes can withstand the 800 C flame test, and robot production lines achieve nanometer level precision control.
Local manufacturer Jiangsu Xingchange Special Steel Pipe specializes in producing special materials such as seamless stainless-steel pipes, nickel-based alloys, and Hastelloy alloys.

The company's annual production capacity has reached 80,000 metric tons, and its products are exported to 23 countries.
Jiangsu Xinsu Investment and Development Group signed a cooperation agreement with the zone in 2021, which included the establishment of an intelligent machinery manufacturing industry base. In October 2023, it added a large-scale CNC grinding machine and military and police equipment project, with a total investment of $250 million.
In the first 10 months, the zone's invoice sales generated by enterprises above a designated size hit 9.59 billion yuan ($1.35 billion), a year-on-year increase of 7.63 percent.
