Huangqiao town in Taixing, Jiangsu province, was once known as an industrial hub, but now it has added a new business card of "green new city", buoyed by the practices of green transformation implemented by the Taixing Huangqiao Economic Development Zone.
By vigorously advancing provincial-level pilot projects for China's dual carbon goals of seeing carbon dioxide emissions peak before 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality before 2060, not to mention the construction of a water-saving industrial park, the zone has been awarded the title of national and provincial-level green industrial park.
At present, there are more than 40 air monitoring stations standing guard over the zone, monitoring upstream and downstream water quality stations in real-time.
Environmental data is transmitted back in seconds, paving the way for highly effective pollution tracing.

The zone has made combined efforts to protect the ecology. The separation of rainwater and sewage has been basically completed. It is accelerating the installation of the reclaimed water reuse pipeline network and has provided tailored rectification plans for local enterprises. The management of solid hazardous waste has also formed a dense network from generation to disposal.
The zone is currently home to two national-level green factories and five provincial-level green factories. Jiangsu Sunpower, as a prime example, purchased over 20 million kilowatt hours of green electricity in 2025 and generated approximately 8 million kilowatt hours of rooftop photovoltaic power annually. Its production lines are equipped with energy-saving equipment at or above the second level, and its waste treatment system operates in a closed-loop manner.
