The Taixing Huangqiao Economic Development Zone in Taixing, Jiangsu province, has made dedicated efforts to promote resource recycling, a crucial component when it comes to building eco-friendly parks.
The zone is promoting a dual approach of sewage treatment and reclaimed water reuse. It has invested 286 million yuan ($42.65 million) to build a sewage treatment plant, with a daily treatment capacity of 20,000 metric tons.
The design scale of supporting construction of the reclaimed water reuse system is 3,000 tons per day. The effluent is reused for industrial washing water and production process water, therefore greening water in the resident enterprises.
At present, the reuse rate of industrial water in the zone has remained stable at over 95.8 percent for three consecutive years.
In addition, the comprehensive utilization rate of industrial solid waste in the zone is over 99 percent, and the recycling rate of renewable resources is 100 percent.
General solid waste such as waste sand, steel slag, and dust collection systems, is used for resource utilization through external sales and comprehensive utilization, as well as supplier recycling. Hazardous waste is entrusted to qualified units for standardized disposal.
