The Taixing Huangqiao Economic Development Zone in Taixing, Jiangsu province, has achieved significant results in green and sustainable development after constant exploration.
The results are reflected in the continuous decrease in carbon emission intensity, total pollutant emissions, and resource consumption intensity. Moreover, the proportion of clean energy has increased to 96.3 percent, the proportion of green industries has increased to 41.5 percent, and the comprehensive utilization rate of solid waste has risen to over 99 percent.

The added value of green industries accounted for 41.5 percent of the zone's industrial added value in 2025. The zone's excellent air quality rate remains stable at over 86 percent, and the total emissions of key pollutants are controlled within the permitted range.
"Green transformation is not a multiple-choice question, but a mandatory answer," said He Qing, deputy director of the zone's management committee.
Looking ahead, the zone will continue to deepen the green, low-carbon and circular transformation. The efforts will include accelerating the construction of distributed photovoltaic and energy storage projects, deepening the energy-saving transformation of key energy consuming units, and expanding the coverage of reclaimed water reuse.
