The launching ceremony for a smart education reform pilot zone took place in Xinghua city, administered by Taizhou, in East China's Jiangsu province on May 29.
The pilot zone will choose some schools as pilot areas to experiment with innovative forms of education.
Xinghua's Party Secretary Chen Fengjian said the pilot zone aims to increase the supply of smart education resources and accelerate the construction of smart education cloud platforms, thus better meeting the personalized and diversified needs of students.
The practice of interactive classrooms uniting urban and rural areas will be promoted to allow students from both to have the same class, Chen added.
In recent years, Xinghua has been promoting new teaching modes such as smart lessons, remote learning and VR applications, with 2,473 classrooms in the city equipped with interactive machines and all primary and secondary schools equipped with big data systems.
