In the run-up to the May Day holiday, Taizhou city in Jiangsu province is launching over 1,000 cultural and tourism activities to attract visitors.
The mix of culture and tourism remains a highlight of the holiday period.
As part of that, Shengci town in Jingjiang city, administered by Taizhou, will stage a Xiju Opera performance on May 1-3, while Hailing district will stage a Peking Opera performance on May 1.
People will also be able to check out the Taizhou Book Collection Origins Exhibition in the Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone Library, telling the stories of local book collectors and their books.
In addition to cultural and artistic activities and themed exhibitions, the city will also launch a wide range of great tourism activities.
Fun things like market fairs, camping parties and unmanned aerial drone performances will take place in Fengcheng River Scenic Area on May 1-4. At Lizhong Water Forest Scenic Spot, pop bands, Chinese dances, water peacock dances, as well as intangible cultural heritage experiences such as paper cutting and lacquer fan making will be staged during the break.
A series of special measures to help the tourists out will also be in place, including the fact that all cultural activities and parking spaces in Shagou ancient town will be free.
