April 23 marks the 76th founding anniversary of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy. In recent days, many schools in Taizhou city, East China's Jiangsu province, have launched various celebration activities to honor the glorious history of the PLA Navy.
In Taizhou Baima Kindergarten, located just across the road from the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy Birthplace Memorial Hall, kids watched videos to learn about the founding of the PLA Navy and together painted works about the PLA Navy on April 15.

Taizhou Naval Primary School held a public speaking competition to honor the history of the navy on April 17. After learning about many stories of brave and dedicated navy members, students said they would continue to be inspired by the spirit of the PLA Navy.
On April 14, a lecture given by Li Lianxiang, a special-grade teacher in Jiangsu province, took place in Taizhou Haijun Middle School.
"As a student of a naval high school, my greatest ideal is to apply to a naval academy and contribute to the protection of our country's oceans," said student Wang Kaiyun.
